As part of our commitment to offering services that enrich and enhance your life, we’ve taken the pledge to promote health and longevity in our community and help our clients and neighbors improve their lifestyles to live longer lives.
What Is The Blue Zones Project?
The Blue Zones are geographic places in the world where people live the longest and have the healthiest lives. Researchers identified 5 of these Blue Zone regions that have the highest known percentage of centenarians around the world and further identified 9 common similarities to these regions called The Power 9, that explain the extraordinary longevity of their people.
The Blue Zones Project is transforming areas around North America through initiatives and practices designed to improve the well-being of individuals and communities, and the Monterey Peninsula has been selected as one of these regions.
How Monterey Bay Moves Can Help You Live A Longer, Healthier Life
More than two thirds of the US population is overweight and we’re constantly bombarded with advertisements for fad diets, strenuous workouts, supplements, and quick fixes that have little to no lasting results.
Our goal at Monterey Bay Moves is to help you develop a sustainable lifestyle that includes working out and taking control of your health holistically. Our programs are designed to motivate you so you look forward to coming to class and you feel better and make healthier choices outside of class.
Outdoor exercise is our specialty, we offer 20 weekly classes, 12 of which are in person around the Monterey Peninsula including outdoor bootcamp, yoga at the beach and Zumba. Unlimited monthly memberships are available and we’ve got an app to help you stay committed. Our trainers offer private coaching and we also partner with businesses to bring fitness classes and retreats to teams.
Almost a decade ago, I came across a book about the Blue Zones communities around the world who seemed to defy the laws of aging. I was intrigued and a seed was planted. I had a dream to help people who, like me, sometimes need a nudge in the right direction to make the healthy choice. Now thanks to my awesome team at Monterey Bay Moves we are making a difference. In January we’re kicking off Marina Wellness Week, a series of classes and seminars to address some of your biggest health questions and help you stay committed to your health goals in 2022. Topics range from eating mindfully, to following up on your own New Years’ Resolutions, weight fluctuation and stress, and disordered eating habits. More details coming soon!
