We believe fitness is an integral part of lifestyle balance and we promise to deliver motivating, inspiring sessions that challenge both physical and mental states.
Monterey Bay Move’s Group Classes at Vince DiMaggio in Marina are group exercise sessions designed to challenge you physically and help you grow emotionally and mentally along your fitness journey with various workout styles.
All our classes are held at Vince DiMaggio Park in Marina, CA to allow you to connect with nature and add some sunshine – or fog! – in your busy day (with the exception of STRONG By Zumba at Spector Dance Studio on Saturdays).
Each class is 45-minutes long and is designed to be inclusive and allow multiple regression and progression options to suit your level.
These classes for you to have terrific fun with friends and do something good for your health in a friendly yet motivating atmosphere.
You will notice on your first class that we do things a little differently at Monterey Bay Moves; we support each other when training gets tough and we treat you like you’re family. We will never single you out (unless you are doing terrific, then we reserve the right to praise your amazing efforts!)

I started taking yoga classes to add as a part of my routine during quarantine, and it’s made such an impact in my life! I have not practiced in a few years and for the first time in many years, I feel present in my own body. It’s a 55-minute flow that surprisingly gives you quite the workout! It’s tough, but good and much needed. They have you in poses that are not your usual chill yoga poses, but such interesting poses myself and my roommate have not done before that make you stretch and tone parts of your body you were unaware of. I’m also practically falling asleep by the end because it’s so peaceful. I LOVE IT! I look forward to it every Monday and Wednesday!!! My body is thankful.

“The yoga classes (well all the other classes too) are great! Instructors have great teaching styles and I enjoy the use of aromatherapy and therapeutic adjustments during in person sessions. In light of the pandemic, classes have been made available online and they are both great at using their voices to guide you through flows when your have can’t necessarily be on the computer screen to feel the flow. The class times vary enough that I am able to fit 2-4 yoga sessions into my schedule each week!”

MBM has been so great for my physical and mental health. the workouts are mainly outside and I think that is what I love most about them. I am inside all day everyday and it feels so good to break a sweat in the fresh air.
Also, the classes cater very much for the 9-5 life, I especially like when we have our morning classes. It really gets my day started on the right foot. Before MBM I was sort of working out consistently but so bored with my workouts that I would easily fall out of my routine. There are several different classes MBM offers and I think with variety of workouts and classes is the reason I have been able to see more muscles in my arms and stomach.
Coach Elizabeth is what also makes MBM so great because she makes a big effort to create a community among us. She checks up on us, creates special challenges to keep us motivated, and has made a big effort to keep us safe during our workouts with all that 2020 has thrown at us. A lot of us have made friends within the group and MBM has been such a positive part of this year for me. (I’m not crying, you’re crying)

As you progress, she tweaks and changes your routine so that you are not always stuck doing the same thing. At first, I was worried I would not attend classes regularly, but the instructors keep the workouts varied and interesting; I am motivated to attend. I feel stronger and healthier. Coach Elizabeth knows how to motivate and encourage me to do my best. The warm-ups are fun and stretches are great. I feel very healthy and now look forward to my three classes I attend each week.

I joined the group classes to prevent back injury and increase my abdominal/core strength. At first, I thought the MetaFit class was very difficult, but that was because I hadn’t exercised in so long. Coach Elizabeth is encouraging and provides individual tips for optimal body positioning along with the group instructions. Explanations about the flow of the training are helpful for motivation and pacing. Now I am more aware of my posture and feel that my core has improved.

I started taking yoga classes (Restorative Yoga on Mondays and Yoga Flow on Wednesdays) a few weeks ago and they have been seriously so amazing! I’m definitely a beginner when it comes to yoga, so I was nervous going into the classes. But Allison does a great job at walking you through the poses and details what to do so clearly that I don’t even have to look up/check to see what she’s doing! She also does a great job at offering modifications for all poses for people with injuries or who want an easier option. It’s been four weeks and I already feel more flexible, more strong, more present in my body. Every class is different, challenging, and rewarding. I come out of each one more confident in myself (body, mind, and soul)! Monterey Bay Moves is the best and I highly recommend attending their classes!!

Elizabeth (the owner and head trainer for group fitness classes) is the most knowledgeable trainer I’ve ever met and worked out with.
